Sylvester Stallone and producer Braden Aftergood’s Balboa Productions label have set up several new projects which will serve as starring and producing vehicles for Stallone. The first is “Samaritan” which is dubbed a “dark, fresh take on the superhero genre” and aims to start production next year.

The other is the long-gestating adaptation of James Byron Huggins’ novel “Hunter” which Stallone bought films rights to nearly a decade ago. The story of that follows Nathaniel Hunter, whose hyper-tracking skills are employed to hunt down a raging beast, a half-human terror created by a renegade agency that is threatening to wreak havoc of civilization.

Balboa has also acquired the film rights to Michael McGowan and Ralph Pezzullo’s memoir “Ghost: My Thirty Years as an FBI Undercover Agent”. McGowan worked on more than fifty undercover cases in his time with the FBI. Writers are currently being sought for both “Hunter” and “Ghost”.

There’s also a film set in the world of special ops to be written by retired Army Ranger Max Adams. Starlight Cultural Entertainment will finance. Stallone is in the midst of shooting “Rambo V” and will next be seen on screen next month in “Creed 2”.
