Your thoughts on this story....

A British Airways Concord disappears on final approach. The Doctor, still reeling from the loss of Adric, becomes involved when his TARDIS miss-fires from its intended destination of London 1851 and appears at Heathrow airport. The Doctor follows the lost plane into the deep past only to discover he is part of an illusion. This forces him to ask the question: if there is an illusion, who is the conjurer?

A huge disappointment after that ending of EARTHSHOCK. To think what could have been, dealing with the repercussions of what had happened.

Instead we get "A holiday! To cheer us all up!"

Maybe ROSE should have started this way with the Eccleston Doctor on holiday on Earth to cheer himself up after the destruction of Gallifrey.

I have never understood how Grimwade could write such a nonsensical script, which seemed hopelessly plotted, and then write MAWDRYN, which I thought was much better.

Even the editing of the opening post (above) went ineptly wrong, but I can't edit it and fix it. That's how infectiously bad this story is to this day! :emoji_confused:

Oh well, here's the trailer......

I never understood how anybody could think that they could get away with the special effects budget trying to make it look like a concorde was landing in the Pleistocene era. Or why The Master had to disguise himself when he wasn't expecting the Doctor to appear.
