Worst of all, it's not even limited to the internet. I have some coworkers who are still adamant tRump supporters, and they use the exact same tactics. One in particular is in her own little fantasy world. Anytime someone talks about how much the Pussygrabber In Chief lies, she always responds with "every politician lies". I'm like "Sure, but can you actually defend what he just lied about, and not just deflect so as to not actually address the issue?

Oh they’re quite a lot, aren’t they. All the Chump supporters I know are incredibly ignorant, selfish, racist, or all three. NOTHING gets through to them. Nothing. I post anti-Trump memes on Facebook all the time just to piss them off. I don’t have the opportunity so much with the people who aren’t on social media, because they don’t really let me talk. In fact I’m loud on social media because my conservative family and acquaintances don’t let me say anything.

Here’s a rundown of some of the Trump supporters I know:

One friend who loves Trump keeps sending me videos and links on Facebook about how Muslims are trying to take over the world. Syrian Muslims were set to take over West Virginia, Muslims are trying to establish a state within Australia, Muslims are outbreeding everybody else and will soon be a worldwide majority, memes about how much Jesus loves me, blah blah blah.

One friend posts about how we have mass shootings because we don't have prayer in schools. And she said something about how everybody is mourning the Muslims in New Zealand but nobody remembers the Christians in Sri Lanka. I told her plenty of people are mourning the massacre in Sri Lanka and she didn't answer me. And she always posts outrageous articles that a simple Snopes search can disprove.

When I first met one friend, in a class at the community college, she asked me about my ethnicity. She said "You can't be Mexican because you didn't come with your husband and your sister and your kids and a bunch of other relatives." I should have rebuffed her but she was friendly to me and sat beside me and everything, and back then I was kind of desperate for friends. Once when I posted a picture of a baby born in Iraq who was poisoned by toxic chemicals in the womb, she said "It looks like a bad art project." Another friend corrected her by pointing out the baby was "she," not "it." And she thinks they put nasty things in vaccines.

Another friend doesn't think you deserve a living wage unless you do a highly skilled job. Those low level jobs are meant for high school students. If you want a better job go get an education. She thinks our tax dollars shouldn't be paying to help people out – why can't they just rely on private charities from churches and places like that? Doctors won't get a living wage if we switch to Universal Healthcare, but poor people should be able to go to charity clinics where doctors work for free. (huh? ) And Trump was justified taking children away from their parents at the border because their parents did something illegal. After all, when criminals go to jail, don't they get separated from their children?

An elderly bishop, whose English isn't really all that great, likes Trump because "he will sweep this country clean." This man (he's 87) avoids all the news and politics and doesn't believe in climate change.

Don't get me started. We attended a banquet held for the kids in speech last month (my son went to state for large group and individual - awesome!), and before the meal started, a kid gave a prayer, to which my son and I both looked at each other like "seriously". It's a state institution, not church.
Before I jumped off of Facebook, an old friend of mine from high school was arguing with me and a couple of other people. He made some stupid assed comment, to which I informed him he could check Snopes and find out he was, indeed, wrong. He then enlightened me, telling me that "Snopes is as liberal as they come, and has a leftist bias".

    You can't write this shit.
I got a college education. I'm still at a low paying job. Granted, I make higher than minimum wage, but with two kids, mortgage, constant surprise bills...yeah.
Strange. They do in other countries with Universal Healthcare. What is it that we would be doing wrong?

    Huh, why would....waaaaaiiit! You're Mexican? :emoji_alien:

I live in a pretty rural and conservative area in the midwest, but we have a pretty diverse community. And yet, it amazes me how many folks still say all of the racist shit that I hear. "Hispanics are taking our jobs!" Well, you can go scoop pig shit for slave's wages (I've done it, because I had a new baby, and real men do what it takes to make money). But they won't, because it's beneath them. "They come here and don't speak the language!" Which I find hilarious, because if we administered an English test to most people in my area, they would fail with flying colors.

And now there's this shit they just passed in Alabama today. We're on our way to Christian Sharia Law. Fuck this country. Make America Great Britain Again!

How many times have I heard this! And they quote from these "news" sources no intelligent person would believe. They live in some kind of a bubble.

My praying-crazy friend (who's a woman – there are a lot of women who think like this, unfortunately) would approve of this because she posts constant pro-life memes. And my brother's MIL is a Trump supporter because she thinks he's going to reverse Roe vs. Wade. The best thing is that Evangelicals didn't care about abortion until the 70s. Before that it wasn't a concern at all! They're being manipulated by right-wing demagogues and they're too stupid to know it.
