Fun The Turin Shroud: Fake or Genuine?

And yet, at least once a year someone puts out a TV special about it, claiming it's still authentic, and people still buy it. But then, people are listening to these overpaid NBA "stars" with their revival of the Flat Earth crap, so I guess people will believe anything.

Everyone knows the Earth is hollow, and below the surface are the Silurians, waiting to take the Earth back from the apes.

Absolutely. There's never been any serious, rigorous scientific study of this thing that's done other than completely debunk it, but on a perennial basis, someone will come forth with a claim that science has come up with 'new' evidence that the shroud is genuine...and then the new evidence turns out to be the same old half-baked same old.

But as long as there are people out there who, like Fox Mulder, 'want to believe', there'll always be those who will be happy to sell the Brooklyn Bridge of belief. No doubt there are still those who are convinced that the 'James, Brother of Jesus' stone crypt is for real, and every other religious relic that's ever been discovered has its share of adherents for whom no scientific proof will ever disabuse them of their belief in the objective reality of their particular fetish object.

I personally like the theory that it was a fake created by one of the most intelligent Humans to have ever lived - and a personal hero of mine - Leonardo da Vinci.
The one thing that makes me doubt this is that, despite the attempts to create a three-dimensional generated image of the 'figure', I've read numerous times that the anatomical proportions would be all wrong if this had been a living body--knees in the wrong place and things like that. Da Vinci would probably have been more meticulous in rendering exact physical proportions--unless, of course, he was having his own little joke in having created the thing.

Exactly.

I believe he did have a tremendous sense of humour.

And I've also heard that this may not be the only example of his sense of humour being on display.

However, once again, this is just a theory. But one that I like.

As a theory, I love it. I'd give a necessary limb to be able to go back in time and watch him chuckling to himself over the notion of all those suckers, centuries down the road, still trying to prove this was Jesus' honest-to-God (pardon the pun) 'burial shroud'.

It's the image of jacque d'molay, the last master of the templars,no one had took in consideration the historical evidence of this.

Then please provide the historical evidence for this.
Well, all starts on 13 october 1307 with the arrest of the knights templar,i don't know exactly how to explain everything in english, because it's alot to write, but if you are curious about this, you can check for yourself.

Where?

In any case, I still prefer the theory that it was Leonardo da Vinci. It is as good a theory as any, with as much likelihood of being true as any other theory. He certainly had the sense of humour, the intelligence and the skills to produce something like this. It would also not be the only example of his sense of humour.

Are you referring to the 1997 book, THE SECOND MESSIAH: TEMPLARS, THE TURIN SHROUD AND THE GREAT SECRET OF FREEMASONRY?

In an interview in 2005 about his book with Alan Butler, WHO BUILT THE MOON?, Christopher Knight stated that the moon was an artificial construction. He believes that it was created to make life on Earth possible, including Humans and that the most likely builders were Humans from the future using time travel. As for Robert Lomas, elements of his work have been described as hoaxes or when working with others, such as Christopher Knight, as an invention by highly imaginative authors ...

So please forgive me if I remain a tad sceptical about your source material. I find it much more believable that the Turin Shroud was the result of a practical joke. Of course, we might both be wrong.
