No one has mentioned those terrific puppet shows of the 60's. Don't we all love them? Recently bought the DVD of Stingray, really enjoying it. Humanoid underwater civilization hostile to man, why not?

Actually I think the best is Captain Scarlet. The puppet technology was the best, the size proportionality of heads to body was just right and the stories were well written.

Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons
Announced to commemorate this week’s fiftieth anniversary of the series, UK home video distributor Network will release a Blu-ray remaster of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s iconic supermarionation sci-fi series “Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons” this November.

A much darker, more violent and more polished follow-up to “Thunderbirds,” the sci-fi adventures follow an indestructible secret agent battling a sinister Martian threat. All thirty two episodes will be done in multiple volumes which have been remastered from the original 35mm film the show was shot on.

Just found this oddity....

Have never heard of it before....

The Day After Tomorrow is a 1975 British science-fiction television drama produced by Gerry Anderson between the first and second series of Space: 1999.

I remember the first and second times I saw this show on the BBC in the seventies and I was sure it was the start of a long series but sadly not!

I've always loved Captain Scarlet and The Mysterons and had to have it in my collection of DVDs! The only Gerry Anderson puppet series I could watch today! I saw an advert for the Captain Scarlet Blu Rays yesterday as a matter of fact but it's outside of my budget range sadly, still I've got the DVDs and they're fine!

Sylvia Anderson is interviewed by Tim Vincent on Blue Peter (TX 13/9/1995) and promotes the Phillips "Toys & Dolls" auction where her original puppets and much more were to be sold the following week. CRINGE as Sylvia demonstrates she doesn't remember how to operate the puppets' eyes! SCREAM as Bonnie the dog nearly knocks over Father Unwin and Marina!
