Controversial The IMDF Conflict Zone!

There are a few similarities between BLAKE'S 7 and STAR COPS.

Just let me dismantle TWIN PEAKS.
Well, I'm glad to find out which they are! But... isn't "dismantle" a bit too harsh of a term? Wouldn't it be wiser to maintain to enrich IMDF and in case others decide to talk about Twin Peaks in the future? Or do you need the storage space?

You're joining us in the Space Cops boards as well, aren't you, @ant-mac?

Yes of course, I mean hopefully everyone will watch B7, as Doc says it isn't the same without you and brimfin.
BTW , how did you know about the Venusian moles in B7!? You have seen it! I will say this , and protect it with a spoiler alert;
For which I thank you and of course I didn't look at it. Anyway, once thing I've learned in these 50+ years of life is that if there's anything you can count on is that there's *always* a Venusian mole behind every cursed scheme. Call that racial profiling, but I don't trust Venusian Pirates one bit!

I won't be deleting any posts, just transferring them into the TV category.

TP only got a position in THE FRANCHISE ZONE for the duration of the view and review process.

STAR COPS will be the same.

OK. As your avatar suggests, you're tough but fair. (A bit "more tough," I'd say...) :emoji_grimacing: :emoji_laughing:

OK, as soon as the STAR COPS board is up, we'll be posting there as well. But episode viewings only start on Friday the 16th. Why Friday? Because it's always been Friday, that's why! And that will give time for stragglers to catch up with things.

Would it make more sense to have a Sages group in the TV zone rather than putting things into the Franchise zone? That way there would be a history of what's been viewed?

The STAR COPS forum is ready for use.

You'll find it in its correct alphabetical position in THE FRANCHISE ZONE.

BLAKE'S 7 already had a forum in THE FRANCHISE ZONE and now STAR COPS has one too.

The original idea is that we'd go to each show's board in order to meet the so-called "locals," the people who already posted on those boards. Of course now that each board is being created as we move on to it, the difference is lost.

By the way, what do you get as a VIP? Better wine selection I suppose.

I go to sleep for a few hours and when i return we are watching 2 shows :emoji_astonished:
I have to admit my first reaction was can't we do Blake's 7 first as voted and then at the end of 1 season change if that was the vote.

But on reflection I think this might be a better solution.
I think the most likely thing to happen at the end of Blake's 7 Season 1 is that the group would split. There would likely be some who weren't keen on the show by that point and some who, though liked it, wanted to move on to something new.
It did occur to me that then would create a problem with the vote. If one side or the other won then what's the point of the vote if you aren't committed to following the result.
I sort of accepted this was probably on the horizon but "We will deal with it when we get there" seemed like a good idea.

But I think the key thing is the group is supposed to be fun.
Looking forward to Friday/Sunday to comment and read comments about the episode you've just watched.
I think that can still happen even if it was a show you weren't keen on watching initially. Sometimes it turns out to be great. Others it turns out to be exactly as bad as you expected so you get to debate and pick it apart.
But if at the end of the season the vote was to continue that show I can imagine that might be a depressing thought.

I used to watch Grey's Anatomy because my flatmate loves it. But if you were to suggest that show now I might have to go full Taken on you. I will find you and when I do I will stop you voting for it :emoji_angry: cause I can't go back to that show, please don't make me go back.:emoji_tired_face:
Err anyway....

So Mad-Pac has brought things to a decision point now which I think is for the best.

I am still committed to Blake's 7 for at least season 1. But I am also happy to start watching and commenting on Star Cops.

Just to be clear - once we watch the episode do we comment on the episode page? or here?

I wish!

There are probably a couple of perks but I honestly don't remember what they are at the moment. I got VIP status by donating $5 early on when the site was being established.

AS I said, you can change it from Blake's Sages to whatever is wanted. So far it was "Sages of the Single Season." We had a long, exhausting discussion and voting process just to get to this fantastic name! So that's the one.
The name can't be that fantastic... It's inaccurate.
As I don't think "Single Season" applies anymore, I made an administrative decision to change it to "Blake's Sages," which it doesn't mean it has to stay that way.
I don't think it applies anymore either.

TWIN PEAKS is not a single season TV series.
Honestly "IMDF Sages" is something I'm hearing for the first tie right now. If I can make a suggestion, I recommend that if you think this should be the name of the group you should consult the others and have everybody properly vote on this new name, as we did earlier.
For the record, the name "IMDF Sages" has been used on public forums before.

It seems to be a reasonably logical choice under the circumstances, but if anyone wishes to discuss the matter further, they can contact me either in private or in public.
If I recall correctly, I used the word "inclined."
And if I recall correctly, I never said you didn't say that.

Whether you did or did not, it does not invalidate my response.
I'm not splitting anything. I'm just opening another board. I'm still going to be in this one, and so can anybody who takes part in that board. I can do two things at once, you know.

The thing is, as I've explained, I don't feel comfortable presenting a show to people who know it much, much better than I do. It wouldn't make sense. Besides, I'll enjoy things better without that specific responsibility.
Well, as you've relinquished your leadership of the IMDF Sages and have asked Michael to assume command, it is now his responsibility to run the various view and review message boards that will be inhabited and used by his Sages.
Also, as I said before, I think the restriction to one-season, cancelled shows is what made us unique. If you have a group about "single season shows and shows of any other kind," the single season aspect disappears, because people will start nominating and voting for just any show, and a single season show will only be picked as a coincidence at best. So we should still have out little corner for single-season shows as we've been doing since 2010 or 2011, I guess.
If you feel that there's such an issue surrounding the practice of watching TV series that are comprised of more than one season, why did you watch TWIN PEAKS?
Nope. But then we never had such an influx of fans from another board who want to change everything. Come to think of it, that sounds like an interesting metaphor about mass immigration and cultural identity...
You still seem to be incapable of grasping the fact that there is no other "board". We are all regulars of IMDF. There is no "them" and "us" - just "us".

And exactly what is being changed? You've already viewed TV series that were science fiction in nature and you've already viewed TV series that are comprised of more than one season. So what's changed?

Well, technically, we're all immigrants. We came here after the closure of the IMDb message boards. And we've all worked together to create our own culture and identity on the IMDF message boards.
