The Girl Next Door (2007)
Is strange, disturbing and sick. At the time, I was seeing someone who was
into that kind of thing. Needless to say, he was not around for very long.
I'm almost ashamed , to post it.:(:(:(
I read the book. It was loosely based on real events, the murder of Sylvia Likens.

Anyway, I like the strangeness that some Gregg Araki's films have (Doom Generation, Kaboom, Nowhere).
Here are a few more.
Little Otik
Tetsuo
Guinea Pig 2

Yes! I grew up with Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me came out while I was in high school. My friends and I all had expectations of weirdness but it blew them out of the water
Not sure if I can cope with a brand new series without a complete re-watch... but at least I think I can still find my Welcome to Twin Peaks guidebook with original cherry pie recipe. I remember a friend had a Twin Peaks costume party, and I went as Diane... who could argue?

Last Year in Marienbad.

In many ways, a fascinating film but equally, very weird and often quite slow and boring. One that allows for many interesting interpretations and gets you thinking. Glad I watched it... but wouldn't again.

Think I dimly remember about 20 minutes of it on a friend's VHS before a gentle coma descended - a bit like The Grand Budapest Hotel, but without the plot or jokes?

Warhol's Batman Dracula (1964)

This film was found only after Warhol's death.

60 percent of this film is still currently missing.

I keep hoping that they will lose the other forty percent as well.

And I have absolutely no idea how it ties into the current DC Extended Universe. :emoji_confused:

La Ceremonie (1995) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112769/?ref_=nv_sr_1
While not super-strange, I found this one to be more than a little bizarre. It's about a seemingly normal young French woman, working as a live-in maid to a wealthy family. As the story unfolds, it is revealed how the woman (Sandrine Bonnaire) is actually illiterate, cannot read or write a word, and this complicates and confuses things for her and others around her as the story goes on. I won't give away the ending, suffice it to say it is a shocker. All in all a twisty, slightly eerie movie. Thought it was worth a mention here.

I agree with Eraserhead. I thought it was horrendous, pretentious, boring and all in all, meaningless.

Martyrs was a terrifying film. It is a group of old people who think that by torturing young girls they may cause on them to have visions to prove once and for all if there is something after we die.

Then, there was another French film - god, they make strange films in that country -, which I can't remember the title right now. It was a personal project of the director, who had self-mutilated when she was younger. So it is about a wealthy professional woman who hurts herself by accident, but she only realises that she has bled a lot when she arrives back home and undresses to go to bed. She doesn't understand why she didn't feel any pain at all. So she begins to obsess about her lack of feelings towards pain and she hurts herself in increasingly disturbing ways. She never leaves her home now, and ends up losing her fiancé, her buoyant career, the contact with her family and friends. She feels attached to nothing, and ends up cooking and eating her own flesh. This film was obsessive and weird, and extremely difficult to watch for me, but I thought it was an excellent film.
