Doctor Who: Junk Yard Demon. NEW. Tom Baker Cyberman Marvel Comics 1981. John Guilor.

doctor-who-13-cover.jpg

John Guilor provides the voices in this Audio/Visual realisation of the 1981 Marvel Doctor Who Comic Strip "Junk Yard Demon". This production features the original colourised comic art. Originally presented in black and white and published in Doctor Who Monthly issue 58-59. 'Junk Yard Demon' is also presented here as a two part story.
Featuring a lone Cyberman that appears to be in a transitory form between the Mk 1 version found in 'The Tenth Planet' and the Mk 2 version seen in 'The Moonbase', this comedy sci-fi tale sees a vintage Cyberman battling the then recently departed Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker). Last seen on television in March 1981, the final untold stories of the Fourth Doctor could only be found within the pages of Doctor Who Monthly. We hope you enjoy a nostalgic trip with this new version brought to life in sound and colour for the first time!

It is spooky. I only just discovered this cache of tunes, despite their having been on YT since about 2015. Yet a mere day apart, you and I..... :emoji_scream:
I discover the 50th anniversary box-set today.

However, I discovered other DW tunes yesterday...

So we've both been treading the same ground in the last 24 hours. :emoji_confused:

Exploration Earth: The Time Machine was the first broadcast radio drama in the Doctor Who franchise. Along with Doctor Who and the Pescatons, it was one of only two occasions on which Elisabeth Sladen appeared alongside Tom Baker in a Doctor Who audio play.

As the third episode of the BBC Schools radio series Exploration Earth, it formed part of a study module about geography. It used the Doctor Who format and elements to explore the processes of the creation of the Earth. The subtitle The Time Machine was never spoken on-air nor used on packaging from the BBC Audio release. However, it was almost certainly used in Radio Times listings, teacher's guides and other contemporary internal documents as a way to distinguish this episode of Exploration Earth from others.

The TARDIS takes the Fourth Doctor and Sarah back in Time to witness stages of the Earth's development. However, as the planet evolves from a mass of heat and gas, Megron the High Lord of Chaos has his own designs on our homeworld. If his threats to endanger the stability of Earth have any substance, the existence of mankind itself is in question!

As I recently said elsewhere, the best DOCTOR WHO production I've seen since... 1989.

THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD is often mentioned when the casting of Tom Baker is discussed, but THE MILLIONAIRESS is the performance that led directly to him getting the role. The director of this drama mentioned Tom as a good possibility to Barry Letts afterwards. A SINBAD trip to the cinema simply clinched the deal for Mister Letts.......

The Millionairess (Maggie Smith, 1972). Part 6 of 11

1 minute in.....

"You are abominably rude, but you inspire confidence as a Doctor!"

Sums it all up really.

Better than "Carrot juice! Carrot juice! Carrot juice!" did later on, anyway. :emoji_head_bandage:
