I enjoyed season 1, although I agree with some of the criticisms about the pacing. It might have worked better as a 10 episode season as there were a couple of episodes that really just felt like padding out the run time.

Depends. If they focus on story and character with humour it could work ongoing. If they focus on spoofing Star Trek, they'll run out of jokes very quickly.

Or promisingly like Torchwood: Children of Earth. A whole series story-line can work well. As long as the story justifies the full series length. Too often stories like that can be told over 5-6 episodes and need a lot of padding to fill out the full episode run.

I find it pretty hard to disagree with what he was saying. He probably could have phrased it a bit nicer but that tends to not be how 16yo's think. But he's right to a fair degree. The stories of the time were very derivative and cliched. At the same time it's hard to blame Pip & Jane Baker too...

I used to love The Kenny Everett Show as a kid/early teen. Sadly, my mother was not a fan so I had to sneak in my viewing when she was out of the room.
