True. The 50 year timeline was more about when I'd expect the final book to be finished. Then they'll probably be ready for the 3rd or 4th remake. Probably as a direct to brain download.

Don't forget they can always remake Game of Thrones following the story of the books when GRRM has finished writing them (in fifty years or so).

This was the first version of King Kong I ever saw so I've got reasonably fond memories of it. Haven't seen it (or any version) for many years now. Probably the last time I watched a King Kong movie was the 2005 version.

A combination of the right cast with the right script at the right time. Lightning in a bottle which couldn't be recaptured as proved by both the sequel and the reboot.

Thanks Carol. I think its also difficult to really quantify later companions like Amy & Rory, Clara, and now Bill, given that they seem to have the benefit of travelling with the Doctor as well as maintaining their home life. I suspect in a case like that its much harder to decide to stop...

@duzit - when my parents retired they seemed to get busier than when they were working so I can completely understand. The challenge of this golden age of choice is that there is so much that you inevitably have to choose to not watch things that are extremely good.

The major challenge I've encountered so far is linking the engines to the Eye of Harmony.

That's the one with Judi Dench, right? I've seen episodes here and there and it was very good. Something to add to my viewing queue when I become a professional TV watcher.

I so need to catch up on my Netflix Marvel shows. I'm still working through Daredevil season 2 and haven't started on any of the others yet. I think I need to retire so I can dedicate my life to watching TV.

I'm up to about episode 5 and enjoying it immensely so far (although struggling to find time to watch it).

It's interesting to think that many of those books about the history of the show would have been written by people who had to rely on only their memories of many of the missing episodes (more then than there are now). And probably not even the telesnap/audio versions to help them.

One of the low points of Pixar's career (admittedly Pixar's low point is considerably higher than most other studios). A movie based more on merchandising potential than quality story.
