Ah, I just thought of another one! Titanic (1997) - 194 minutes I'll say this - that was an easy movie to sit through. In those days, I could sit through that movie drinking a huge bottle of water and didn't need to go to the bathroom once.

I tried to watch LOTR (the first one) in the theater, but I was with Dad and he complained the whole time how boring it was so I really couldn't concentrate.

I never read the book, but a review I read said the author gave the story an artificial happy ending on the insistence of the publisher. The movie was nice and grim. Very sad! It's a shame it's not on an American DVD.

I didn't care for it. More CGI than plot and what plot there was paled in comparison to the original.
