I had heard of that film, but had never had the chance to see it. Reading this makes me think I've missed nothing important.

Have you seen Werner Herzog's remake from the 70s? It really plays as a completely different movie, with the creepy atmosphere downplayed, but it's a good movie. I think most of what works in its favor is that it didn't try to copy Murnau's masterpiece, but was more an homage. That being said...

I still regret that they never got to do a full series about this character in the Trek universe while the actor was alive. Maybe they could do the chic thing and do a prequel.

After The Evil Dead got a remake, I kept waiting for someone to pop up announcing a more brutal remake of Army Of Darkness, in that Zack Snyder way of remaking Dawn Of The Dead as a stand alone film. Here, Ash is less self-absorbed buffoon and instead Navy SEAL Dwayne Johnson sent back in time...

First off - and I'm sure I'm the only one - but I fail to see a need for a Joker origin film. This seems like a stupid idea. Again, probably the only one, but I liked how Moore handled his backstory in The Killing Joke. The idea that it may have been his own tale, but then you have his comment...
