    Review Doctor Who Monsters

I don't know what his feeling are on Modern Who, but I've read several quotes from the early days where he bashes Star Wars and Star Trek, but praises Doctor Who very highly. I would be curious how an Ellison written Doctor Who adventure would play out...

    Review The Flash (2014)

I loved tonight's episode, but I swear to Bacchus, if they don't reveal who Savitar is, I'll hurt somebody.

Review Star Wars vs Star Trek

I was actually a Trekker before I was a Wars fan, so I love both equally. I have a good friend who loves Star Wars, but hates Star Trek. I keep telling him I'm going to convert him, but he says it'll never happen. The real reasons are simple, as I have talked with many fellow geeks about it...

    Review Mystery Science Theatre 3000

Go out now and buy series 1-6 on DVD. 7 & 8 were not that great, but there are moments. Series 9 is a thre part mini, and pretty good. Series X is a return to the old school Dwarf. Haven't seen series 11 yet.

    Review Mystery Science Theatre 3000

Teenagers from Outer Space was the first episode I ever saw, so it holds a special place in my heart. After that, not sure what my favorite would be. The movie is also very funny. I'm three episodes into the return on Netflix, and while not great, it is still funny. It's just hard to recapture...

    Review Smile (2017)

Gotta say, I liked this episode. Not terrific, but interesting none the less. It kept me entertained, which was all I was expecting.

Fun What TV Shows Are You Watching/Rewatching at the Moment?

My daughter and I got into this show for a while. We still every now and then start singing "Stupid Deaths", just for a giggle. But this one is still probably my favorite song from the whole show.

    Review The Last Unicorn (1982)

I just learned tonight that Peter S. Beagle, the author of the novel, is suing his former manager for taking everything from him. Apparently he's so broke he can't even afford groceries. And worst of it, fans wanted to set up a GoFundMe, and can't, because anything made could be taken for the...

    Review Dan Curtis' Dracula (1973)

Written by Richard Matheson and directed and produced by Dan Curtis, the genius behind Dark Shadows, this version of Dracula takes many cues from the Hammer productions, with a gothic house instead of a castle. Here the titular vampire is played by Jack Palance, who gives a very good...

    Review Heavy Metal (1981)

Amazing movie, sober or otherwise (better otherwise). Awesome animation.

    Review Video Rental Memories

Sweet! hahaha I grew up in an apartment, so I didn't grow up with pets, and never really became an animal person. I had friends with pets, and I liked them, but I knew I didn't have to take care of them and could leave at some point. Then I married an animal person, and I have to deal with...

    Review The Last Unicorn (1982)

I still haven't read the book. My wife has a copy of it somewhere. But yeah, the movie is pretty legit. I remember when I was a lad, my sister watched it all the time, and for some reason, I hated it, and got sick of it being on all the time. When I got a little older, I sat and watched it one...

Gotta say, I'm not much for rodents, but that sounds like one hip rat. I wish I could have met her.

Fun IMDB: The Site We Left Behind....

That "chick" sounds like a winner. Some folks just need attention, I guess. The folks that really got me were the ones who would mainly post on one board, and would complain intensely about the movie/show/actor, and attack anyone who liked it/them. In particular, there were two women who used...

Review The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

There's a theatre about an hour away from me that shows it on the weekends. Someday... As for Halloween, I've been thinking about talking with the manager at our local theatre about doing a late night horror show. I'd have a few movie buff friends and myself doing the horror host duties, show...

Review The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

I've yet to see it with a live audience, but I do love just sitting down and popping this one in the DVD player. Great film.

Controversial Poor Old Jar Jar: Is All the Hatred Warranted?

The worst of it is, I don't think anybody did tell him that. I remember watching the DVD extras for The Phantom Menace, and everyone Lucas had surrounded himself with by that point were little more than yes men. He hired all of these fanboys who wanted nothing more than to be a part of Star...

Fun IMDB: The Site We Left Behind....

I feel the same way. When I first signed up at IMDb, it was, for the most part, fans talking about movies, TV, actors, etc. The last couple of years it was difficult to have any discussion that didn't immediately devolve into political attacks, claims of racism/misogyny/homophobia, and constant...
