Sexual misconduct allegations
See also: Weinstein effect
In October 2017, actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey, while appearing drunk, made a sexual advance toward him in 1986, when Rapp was 14.[3][4] Spacey stated through Twitter that he did not remember the encounter, but that he owed Rapp "the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior" if he had behaved as asserted.[77][78]

Fifteen others then came forward alleging similar abuse[79] including: journalist Heather Unruh, who alleged that Spacey sexually assaulted her son;[80][81][82] Norwegian author and former royal family member Ari Behn;[83] filmmaker Tony Montana; actor Roberto Cavazos;[84] Richard Dreyfuss's son Harry;[85] and eight people who worked on House of Cards.[5]An anonymous man alleged that he had an extended sexual relationship with Spacey in 1983, when he was 14 and Spacey was 24; the man said that the relationship ended with Spacey attempting to rape him.[86] The Guardian was contacted by "a number of people" who worked at the Old Vic, where Spacey was artistic director for 11 years, alleging that he "groped and behaved in an inappropriate way with young men at the time".[6][87] On November 16, the Old Vic confirmed that it had received 20 testimonies of alleged inappropriate behavior by Spacey, with three stating that they contacted the police.[88] In December, Spacey's Usual Suspects costar Gabriel Byrne revealed that production on that film was shut down for two days because Spacey made unwanted sexual advances toward a younger actor.[89]

In the midst of the allegations, filming was suspended on the sixth and final season of House of Cards.[90] The show had been due to end in 2018.[81] The season was shortened from 13 episodes to 8, and Spacey was removed from the cast.[7] The Gore Vidal biopic Gore starring Spacey was set to be distributed by Netflix but it was canceled,[1][91] and Netflix went on to sever all ties with him.[2] Spacey was due to appear in Ridley Scott's biographical film All the Money in the World as industrialist J. Paul Getty; however, his scenes were cut and Christopher Plummer replaced him as Getty in reshoots.[8] The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences reversed its decision to honor Spacey with the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award.[92]

On November 1, Spacey stated that he would be seeking "evaluation and treatment" for his behavior.[93][94] The following day, Variety reported that his publicist Staci Wolfe and talent agency Creative Artists Agency were ending their relationships with him.

Kevin Spacey: LA prosecutors drop sexual assault charge

Kevin Spacey will not be prosecuted over an accusation of sexual assault that allegedly took place in 1992.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said the alleged incident was outside California's statute of limitations.

Officials confirmed in April that an allegation involving Mr Spacey and an incident with a man in West Hollywood in 1992 was being investigated.

Another case concerning an alleged incident in 2016 remains under review.

A number of allegations of sexual misconduct have been made against the Oscar-winning actor since last November, when he was accused by actor Anthony Rapp of making a sexual advance in 1986.

Mr Spacey claimed to have no memory of the events but publicly apologised. He has since issued an "absolute" denial of the other allegations that later emerged.

Police in London are investigating six criminal cases against him.

The allegations against Spacey saw him dropped from Netflix series House of Cards and replaced by another actor in All the Money in the World.

Kevin Spacey Posts Surprise Xmas Message

Move over North Korea potentially declaring war over a movie, it looks like a Christmas entertainment news story has topped it for weirdness.

On the same morning The Boston Globe has announced that actor Kevin Spacey has been charged with felony sexual assault, the actor released a three-minute video of himself as his “House of Cards” character President Francis J. Underwood.

Speaking to the camera like he does on the show, along with adopting Underwood’s U.S. southern accent, he delivers a monologue that seemingly comments on both the way that show handled his off screen death and exit, alludes to the wider allegations against the actor himself, and pushes the message that you shouldn’t always believe what you hear.

The video was released on the actor’s official YouTube video account and then shared via his social media feed. The police charge relates to allegations that he assaulted the teenage son of a Boston-area news anchor in a Nantucket bar in 2016. Spacey is reportedly set to be arraigned on a charge of indecent assault and battery early next month.

EW reports Netflix had no comment on the video and was not involved in the making of it. The video marks Spacey’s first public appearance since October last year after the allegations first surfaced.

Spacey Planning An Acting Comeback?

A new report at Page Six indicates that disgraced actor Kevin Spacey, who was arraigned in a Nantucket court yesterday on charges of sexual assault against a then eighteen-year-old restaurant employee, is plotting a comeback.

Their source says: “He is still getting acting offers from Europe and Russia. He’s just assumed he can come back [to American films] in a few years.” A bizarre Xmas message video he posted online has so far received more than 9 million views on YouTube.

Spacey appeared in person in the Nantucket courthouse yesterday (CNN has posted a video) and plead not guilty to a felony charge of indecent assault and battery, and was then pulled over for speeding after leaving his arraignment along with being given a verbal warning. The next court date is scheduled for March 4th and the judge reportedly agreed to Kevin Spacey’s request to not attend.
