Another new trailer has turned up for “Mary And The Witch’s Flower,” the first animated feature title from Studio Ponoc which boasts many key craftsmen who used to work at the now downsized Studio Ghibli.

Hiromasa Yonebayashi (“The Secret World Of Arrietty,” “When Marnie Was There”) directs this adaptation of Mary Stewart’s book “The Little Broomstick” about a young girl who goes on a magical journey. Release dates in western countries have yet to be announced.

“Mary and the Witch’s Flower” Voice Cast Set

Studio Ponoc, the new Japanese animation house founded by former Studio Ghibli producer Yoshiaki Nishimura, has locked the English-language voice cast for its first feature “Mary And The Witch’s Flower”.

Ruby Barnhill, Kate Winslet, Jim Broadbent, Ewen Bremner, Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Lynda Baron, Rasmus Hardiker, Teresa Gallagher and Morwenna Banks will lend their voices to his feature based on Mary Stewart’s 1971 novel “The Little Broomstick”.

Hiromasa ‘Maro’ Yonebayashi (“The Secret World of Arrietty”) helms this blend of magic and fantasy which follows the surprising adventures of Mary in a school of magic that is not quite what it seems.

David Freedman and Lynda Freedman are handling the English screenplay adaptation based on the Japanese version by Yonebayashi and Riko Sakaguchi. GKIDS will release the film States-side.
