James Marsden and Julia Butters (“American Housewife”) have joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. Specifics of the roles Marsden and Butters are playing are under wraps.

Set in Los Angeles in 1969, the story follows Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), the former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt).

Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they no longer recognize. But Dalton has a very famous next-door neighbor … Sharon Tate.

The pair joins Damian Lewis as Steve McQueen and Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate along with Al Pacino, Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins Jr., Keith Jefferson and Nicholas Hammond.

The film is slated to be released worldwide on August 9th 2019 – the 50th anniversary of the day the Manson family committed the LaBianca murders and the day after Tate was killed.

Mike Moh Is Bruce Lee In Tarantino’s “Hollywood”

mike-moh-is-bruce-lee-in-tarantinos-hollywood-696x464.jpg

Last month came word that actor Mike Moh (“Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist,” “Inhumans”) had scored a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino’s currently filming 1969 Los Angeles-set ensemble piece “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”. At the time it wasn’t clear what role he would play.

Today, The Wrap has confirmed that Moh will be playing none other than iconic martial artist Bruce Lee in the film. As we know the film will in part deal with the murder of a then-pregnant Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) and several of her friends, an act carried out by Charlie Manson’s family of killers.

So how is Bruce Lee involved? Tate’s husband Roman Polanski was reportedly training with Bruce Lee that summer. Lee was attempting to break into film and giving lessons on the side to earn quick cash, including training with Tate herself ahead of her role in “The Wrecking Crew”.

One day, Bruce told Polanski that he’d lost his sunglasses. When the murder happened, police discovered a pair of sunglasses at the Tate residence they believed belonged to the as yet unidentified killer (the Mansons were mostly unknown at that point). Polanski then briefly thought Lee had killed his wife and future child, but of course Lee had nothing to do with the heinous crime.

Moh honored Lee in YouTube videos and a tweet last month on the 45th anniversary of Lee’s death.

Zawierucha Is Polanski In Tarantino’s “Hollywood”

Polish actor Rafal Zawierucha has been cast as filmmaker Roman Polanski in Quentin Tarantino’s 1969 Los Angeles-set film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” at Sony Pictures.

The story focuses on Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), a washed-up western TV series actor looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick Cliff Booth (Pitt), also his stunt double, is looking for the same thing.

The pair’s neighbor is Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) who was murdered by Charles Manson’s cult of followers that summer, the event being an element within the film’s story. Polanski was married to Tate, who was pregnant with his child, at the time.

Danny Strong and Sydney Sweeney have also joined the cast of the film, but their character specifics are under wraps. The trio joins the likes of Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Madsen, Damien Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins and James Marsden amongst many others in the cast.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is currently filming in California ahead of an August 9th 2019 release.

Damon Herriman Is Manson In QT’s “Hollywood”

damon-herriman-is-manson-in-qts-hollywood-696x464.jpg

Australian actor Damon Herriman is set to play notorious cult leader Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s 1969-set “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” at Sony Pictures.

48-year-old Herriman is probably best known for his role as the not too bright Dewey Crowe on FX’s “Justified,” a show Tarantino must really like considering the hiring of Walton Goggins for his last film and the inclusion of both Herriman and Timothy Olyphant in this.

Herriman but has built up a massive portfolio of film and television roles since his first work in the early 1980s including parts in “J. Edgar,” “The Lone Ranger,” “The Water Diviner,” “House of Wax,” “The Square,” “Down Under,” and “The Big Steal” and TV shows like “Breaking Bad,” “Scorpion,” “Rake” and “Top of the Lake: China Girl”.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” focuses on Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), a washed-up western TV series actor looking for a way to get into the film business. His sidekick Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), also his stunt double, is looking for the same thing. The pair’s neighbor is Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) who was murdered by Charles Manson’s cult of followers that summer, the event being an element within the film’s story.

Rumer Willis, Dreama Walker, Margaret Qualley, Costa Ronin, Victoria Pedretti and Madisen Beaty have also hopped onboard the film with Willis playing British actress Joanna Pettet, Walker as singer Connie Stevens, and Ronin as Polish actor and victim Voytek Frykowski. The other three are playing original roles for the film.

The project is currently in production in Los Angeles ahead of an August 2019 release.

Tarantino’s “Hollywood” To Premiere At Cannes

tarantinos-hollywood-to-premiere-at-cannes-696x464.jpg

It’s not officially announced yet, but THR is reporting that Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” will indeed be having its world premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

In fact, they suggest the plan may be to debut the film on May 21st – 25 years to the day that “Pulp Fiction” played on the Croisette and went on to win the Palme d’Or in 1994. IndieWire adds to this with a quote from Cannes director Thierry Fremaux saying: “He’s editing [and] working hard to be ready by Cannes.” The filmmaker reportedly wants to be there, but it is not a definite yet and so no premiere date is already scheduled.

Set in 1969 Los Angeles, the story centers around former TV Western star Cliff Booth (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Rick Dalton (Brad Pitt) as they navigate a town and an industry they hardly recognize. Robbie plays the late Sharon Tate. Emile Hirsch, Timothy Olyphant, Kurt Russell, Bruce Dern, Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning and the late Luke Perry also star.

Sony Pictures is releasing the film and the studio has reportedly denied that there is an offer from the festival or that any decision has been made. The film opens in cinemas on July 26th.

IMNSHO, this movie is Tarantino's worst.

It used to be Death Proof, but now it's this fiasco.

I can't remember how many times I looked at my watch to see how much longer I had to go nor how many times I rolled my eyes.
