Blake's 7's Paul Darrow in San Diego

Nov. 1988 "mini-con" with Paul "Avon" Darrow in San Diego, CA. Excuse poor video quality in places: it's converted from an aging VHS tape. And please note: the address at the end is no longer valid!

At 47:05 Vila goes to punch Avon, but wisely thinks better of it!

Some things never change!

Poignant to watch this show though. Poor Paul. Good that he is still with us though - and I find it moving seeing this duo still stuck together like Siamese twins despite the passing of the decades.

Avon should have pulled a blaster out from under the blanket and killed the quizmaster though, then said "If you didn't want the answer, you shouldn't have asked the question!" :emoji_innocent:

Murder Must Advertise

This is a scene from Murder Must Advertise from 1973. We see Paul Darrow in a very different role then what we generally know him from. It's an intimate scene, but a good performance from Paul.

Z CARS: "Pieces" (1973)

Paul - with a different accent - stars as Mister Trench, the control-freak head of a family in this episode written by Sapphire and Steel creator.....

Written by P.J. Hammond and guest-starring Paul Darrow and Ann Davies as Mr and Mrs Trench.

.... and Scorby from SEEDS OF DOOM is somehow a policeman too now!

Praying for forgiveness in advance?

Well, Avon can't claim it wasn't premeditated. :emoji_nerd:

It's perfect - and explains so much. This is canon and Episode 0 imo.

For now we know why Avon always seemed a man out of time. Having your house burgled and then being somehow flung from 20th Century Earth to the third Century of the second calendar, losing your religion, your family and accent in the process, must have been terribly traumatic.

Then to survive Gauda Prime only to somehow find yourself on Karfel, was even more nightmarish.

Poor Avon. :emoji_disappointed:

In preparation:

An explanation as to why Servalan ended up as an Androgum, only missing Avon by one adventure. :emoji_disappointed:

..... and just what the Hell was going on with Ford Prefect in this story set on Desperus, one of the Federation's penal colony planets, shortly before Avon - hiding out under the name Knotty-ham Cherrife - found himself on the London......

But we mustn't miss out on his military service in UNIT.

That's where he was trained to be such an efficient and emotionless killer.

Thanks, Alistair... :emoji_wink:

Okay, it may take several large mallets to hammer these things into continuity, but everything fits eventually, dammit.

Seeing the painting of the Third Doctor on the wall in Karfel must have taken Avon back a bit to his days of fighting underground reptile men.

The links are all there...

Perhaps the reason they seem so disjointed is Nelson's fault? :emoji_nerd:

Was looking for a clip of Peter (Deadly Assassin Master) Pratt (who can be seen at 6:35 and 19:47), when who should pop up at 17:20 but none other than Mister Darrow!
