I like this story and it seems to be regarded as a bit of a classic now.

John Carson and Martin Clunes are particularly brilliant.

I briefly met Christopher Bailey when he went to work in local theatre in Lincoln in about 1987. He must have thought I was insane as I made a point of introducing myself to him and and insisted on shaking his hand but didn't want to mention I was an obsessive Doctor Who fan, so just ended up rambling about theatre related stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if he left the country after this unnerving encounter!
