Kevin Tsujihara has resigned as chairman-CEO of Warner Bros. Pictures following an investigation into his relationship with actress Charlotte Kirk.

The investigation began following a feature piece in The Hollywood Reporter was published detailing the alleged extramarital affair between the married Tsujihara and British actress Charlotte Kirk in 2013. Tsujihara was accused of using his power as studio chief to help get her hired on Warners-affiliated projects. Disgraced filmmaker Brett Ratner heavily features

Kirk is on record as saying she was not a victim and the relationship was consensual. She has been accused of trying to leverage her sexual relationship with Tsujihara as pressure to help find her acting roles.

Tsujihara had headed the studio since early 2013, taking over when CEO Barry Meyer and chairman Alan Horn departed (Horn is now chairman at Disney). Tsujihara has been with Warners since 1994 and just recently saw his power expand with him assuming oversight of Cartoon Network, TCM and more due to AT&T’s restructuring of WarnerMedia’s assets.

In a statement, Tsujihara says: “my continued leadership could be a distraction and an obstacle to the company’s continued success. The hard work of everyone within our organization is truly admirable, and I won’t let media attention on my past detract from all the great work the team is doing.”

WarnerMedia is expected to unveil an interim leadership team tomorrow. They also say their investigation into allegations of misconduct against Tsujihara is continuing, with his cooperation.

Max Landis Scrubbed From “Shadow” Film

One of “Kick Ass” and “Greta” star Chloe Grace Moretz’s next films is “Shadow in the Cloud,” a drama in which she stars as a World War Two fighter pilot captain.

The story sees her character carrying top secret documents aboard a B-17 Flying Fortress and must contend with an evil presence, an oncoming Japanese ambush and the leery all-male crew.

The project hails from filmmaker Roseanne Liang who directs and from a script by “Bright” and “Victor Frankenstein” scribe Max Landis who, in 2017, was accused of sexual misconduct.

Speaking with The Guardian this week, the actress revealed that Landis has effectively been scrubbed from the project:

“We’ve completely distanced ourselves from him. We’ve rewritten it several times now. His name is kind of far away from the project. Communication is key and being held accountable is key. It’s a really horrific thing to hear those stories.”

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Kelly McCormick and Tom Hern produce the film which hasn’t set a released date as yet
