Franco’s Lost “Zeroville” To Hit In September
James Franco’s ‘lost’ feature “Zeroville,” which sold its rights to Alchemy in 2015 before that company went bankrupt, has finally found a new home with the myCinema digital content distribution system.
Franco both helms and stars in the comedy based on Steve Erickson’s novel about a young actor who arrives in Hollywood during a transitional time. Seth Rogen, Megan Fox, Joey King, Will Ferrell, Dave Franco, Danny McBride, and Jacki Weaver also star.
“Zeroville” became entangled in Alchemy’s financial issues and was then left in limbo until myCinema picked it up and is planning a theatrical release in September.
myCinema delivers films over the internet which individual theaters can then licenses for any number of weeks of play, but is only currently available at 500 screens throughout the U.S. and Canada.
