    Review Strange Report (1969)

An ITC series that sort of went under the radar and unlike other shows of this ilk went through turbulent production that killed it after 16 episodes. Anthony Quayle and Dr who star Anneke Wills lead as agents in a rare commercial flop for ITC. But having watched it, it is really very good.

    Review McMillan and Wife (1971)

God I used to love this as a kid. Brings back family memories too. My mother used to go wild over Rock Hudson, my Dad not be left out used to like Susan St James. They don't make them like this nowadays.

    Review Magnum.P.I (1980)

I must admit I've only started watching this, yeah 30 years late. I'm still going through series 1, but I'm enjoying it.Totally taken in by the recently deceased John Hillerman , I thought he was a Brit. Accomplished performance from him and Tom Selleck.

    Review The Invisible Man (1975)

Just been through this 70's goodie again. Real enjoyable and David McCallum was perfect. Very neat stories with the invisibility used correctly, not overused.

    Review The Black Arrow '72-'75

Bought this by chance really, just saw it and liked the cast. Nigel Havers and Sally James of tiswas, and William Squire, Callan's boss. Set during war of the roses times. The Black Arrow a sort of Robin Hood, but political. Written by Robert Louis Stevenson.

    Review The Strangerers

Does anyone remember this very weird show? Written by Rob Grant, the one half of the Red Dwarf writing team that skedaddled leaving Doug Naylor. This series of nine episodes told of an alien visitation by vegetables! Aliens disguised as humans but totally incapable of any understanding of any...

    Review Jason King (1971)

One of the more memorable characters created in 70's British tv, the debonair upper crust crime fighter Jason King, played by Peter Wyngarde. Originally the character appeared in the threesome that made up Department S, an ITC series several years earlier. King was a popular character and was...

    Review Chelmsford 123

This is a very funny series with Jimmy Mulville and Rory McGrath set in Roman Britain. It's not in any way historically educational or accurate just OTT fun.

Review F Troop and Hogan's Heroes and Jeannie

Two comedy shows both first aired in '65. Just recently got DVDs of both, reliving childhood memories. Not bad, neither are the belly laughs I thought they'd be , but quite enjoyable.

    Review Hot Metal

Very good but short lived comedy with a great cast of Geoffrey Palmer and the wonderful Robert Hardy about a fictitious red top newspaper, written by top team of David Renwick and Andy Marshall.

    Review Never The Twain

You couldn't really go wrong with this comedy. Two stalwarts of British stage and television, Donald Sinden and Windsor Davies as rival antique dealers at each others throats.

    Review You're Only Young Twice

What you think of this largely depends on what you think of Peggy Mount's bravura performance. It's LOUD. But Pat Coombs as Ms Lupin steals the show. I never knew she was that good an actress. Nice to see Diana King , a bit part actress in so many shows getting a good recurring role in this.

Review Happy Ever After /Terry and June (1974/1979)

Often derided and criticised as being too safe and middle class, but I've always found Terry Scott and June Whitfield's series a pleasant way to spend a half hour. Happy Ever After was IMO slightly better than the later series ,but both enjoyable.

    Review The Goodies (1970)

Are they still funny? Were they ever? Mmm bit unfair, I've been watching them lately, some of it still creases me up in laughter. Who can forget Kitten Kong or Eckythump.
