Review Arachnids in the UK (2018)

This sounds like one fine episode for me to listen to. Fuck.

    Review Rosa (2018)

Woah. Within only a few minutes, I was uncomfortable, and that's a good thing. This episode didn't pull any punches in reference to the racism expressed by many Southern whites of the time. I thought it was, so far, the best episode of the season, even if I have one major issue.

    Review Young Sherlock Holmes (1985)

I saw this one a couple of times when it first hit home video, and I remember enjoying it. It did irk me that they had messed with their first meeting in such a way, but the tone of the movie is in line with the original stories. And it's a far cry better than Elementary.

    Fun The Joke Thread

My high school English teacher used to give a Far Side book to the seniors as a gift. She was also the one who had the complete Monty Python sketches, which my friends and I would borrow from her during study hall, take down to the student lounge, and all read aloud. Sure, the plebeians hated...

    Fun The Joke Thread

A man walks into a library and inquires about a book about Pavlov's dogs and Schrodinger's cat. The librarian replies, "The book rings a bell, but I don't know if it's in or not".

Controversial What the hell is wrong with kids nowdays!?

@Janine The Barefoot comes back and hits it out of the park! Exactly right, too. The way we treat those with mental illness and related problems is just atrocious.

    Fun The Joke Thread

Man walks into a bar and shouts, "All republicans are bastards!" A fellow at the back of the bar yells back, "That offends me!" The first bloke asks, "What, are you a republican?" The second replies, "No, I'm a bastard!"

Review All Creatures Great and Small (1978)

I might have been a little harsh on this show when I referenced it recently. It's not that I hate the show, it just isn't something that I can get immersed in. It is well written and acted, and if one is an animal lover, grew up on a farm, or have an interest in veterinarian sciences, you will...

    Review Series 11 (2018)

I missed last night's episode, but I'm glad it's still doing well in the ratings. Take that, naysayers!!!

    Great movie!

    Review The Flash (1990)

I remember loving the show when it first aired. Sure, it had a lot of faults and strayed pretty far from the comics, but it was so much fun, and at that time, there wasn't anything on for superhero fare. And it was a lot more enjoyable than the next installation of capes on TV, Lois and Clark.

    Poll Miscast Classic Doctors?

Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant were on Star Trek! Patrick Stewart was in Hamlet with David Tennant! And both actors were in Marvel projects! This goes deeper than any of us could possibly grasp!

    Poll Miscast Classic Doctors?

Wait! The Valeyard was an evil version of The Doctor! Shinzon was an evil version of Picard! Tom Hardy played Shinzon and Venom! Venom is what caused the Fifth Doctor to regenerate! This means...something!!!

    Poll Miscast Classic Doctors?

Since I just watched the season premiere of The Flash, I am pondering the multiverse, and curious about an Earth where JNT handed the role to a brilliant but mostly unknown Shakespearean actor by the name of Patrick Stewart, the events of which would cause a horribly miscast Jean-Luc Picard. And...

    Poll Miscast Classic Doctors?

I used to believe that Colin was miscast. I spent years hating his portrayal. Then a couple of years ago I sat and rewatched him, and realized that, under different circumstances, he could have been absolutely brilliant. The problem was not with Colin, but with how the powers that be didn't know...

    Review Marvel's Iron Fist (2017)

Welp, Marvel just announced that they and Netflix have cancelled Iron Fist. Fuck. This show was really good this last season, and was setting some good stuff up for the third season. This is a load of crap.

Review Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

I had known about Saavik being half Romulan from either the comics or one of the novels. I wish that they had kept that in the movie and done more with it in the series, especially as they had originally - if memory serves - intended for her and Spock to be more than student and teacher...
