    Fun The Marvel Animated Universe

It certainly was an interesting universe. I always loved when the shows would crossover, or you would have obscure characters appear on the shows. I remember seeing both Blade and Punisher on Spider-Man, and get all excited.

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

Slender Man (2018) - Movie based on a character from a creepypasta. If you value your sanity avoid this picture. It's the most boring hour and a half I've ever experienced, and I once took sociology in college from a professor who was so monotone he could put meth addicts to sleep. 1/5

    Review Fright Night (2011)

I've never watched the movie all the way through. Honestly, what I saw wasn't entirely terrible, but it certainly wasn't good. Farrell plays Jerry with no feeling whatsoever. In fact, the only parts of it I can say I really enjoyed was seeing David Tennant as the revamped (Oh!) Peter Vincent.

    Review Fright Night 2 (2013)

That looks...horrible. If it weren't for the scenes of possible lesbian interaction, I wouldn't even bother looking for it.

    Review Fright Night (1985)

I had no idea these existed! To the LCS! Fright Night is one of the best 80s horror films, and one of the best vampire films. William Ragsdale plays Charlie Brewster, a teenager with an unhealthy obsession with old horror films, particularly the films of Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowell), who...

Review Fright Night Part 2 (1988)

This film really doesn't know what it wants to be. At times it plays as a straight horror film, then runs right into comedy territory. But strangely, this movie works in spite of that. Only Charlie and Peter are back for this second outing, in which they are pitted against the sister of Jerry...

Review A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

I haven't watched that show since the first season, but I will see that episode.

    Review The Cushing Doctor!

Thanks, Doc! I just remember when that novel came out, and seeing the cover with McCoy holding the gun, and thinking "That's not my Doctor!" I never read it, but had read a synopsis of it that reassured me that it wasn't, indeed, my Doctor, but some sort of "Hey, I'm an author, look how clever I...

    Review The Cushing Doctor!

It seems to me they did something similar in the 90s with that series of novels, where (if memory serves) they travel to a parallel universe where the Doctor is a character in a show loosely based on his exploits, but one where he has a penchant for gun play. If someone remembers better than I...

    Review Classic Who Companions!

I agree with @ant-mac. My mom was the one who cultivated my love of sci-fi. I just made the mistake of marrying a non-geek. Mind you, she does love sitting and watching Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter with me, so I have that going for me. And she loves the Marvel movies, and is an X-Men fan...

Review Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Exactly! This! This is what we comic book fans wanted! This is what those of us who have read and loved comic books for years needed to see! But instead we got Snyder handing us Clark and Bruce doing a dick measuring competition! Fuck! The animated movies and series got so much right!

    Review Doctor Who (2005)

I don't dislike any of the modern companions. It's just that, once upon a time, you traveled with the Doctor, then you got on with your life. Sure, it wasn't always smooth. There is a great comic book story (maybe from the comic strips) where the Sixth runs into Jamie as an old man, and he finds...

    Review Doctor Who (2005)

Capaldi's run suffered from the long standing problem of making the companions superheroes. Rose became this legend, although the connection between her and The Doctor is understandable - to a point - because she helped him deal with his PTSD. Captain Jack becomes immortal and reforms Torchwood...

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

Terrifier (2017) - There is absolutely no plot to this film. However, that isn't why a dyed in the wool horror fan should see this. This is a bloody (see what I did there?) brilliant homage to the slasher films of the 80s. Art the Clown is as iconic as Freddy, Jason or Michael, and maybe even...

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

Veronica (2017) - This Spanish film was touted as the "scariest horror movie ever", and released in the States on Netflix. While not the absolute scariest film I have ever seen, it is very good. It has plenty of tension, the child actors are very good, and the scares actually have substance. If...

    Fun The Joke Thread

A man comes home from work to find his wife in the bedroom packing a suitcase. He immediately demands to know what she's doing. "I'm leaving you! I found out you're a pedophile!" The man chuckles. "That's an awful big word for a nine-year-old."

    Review The Missing Episodes

I do agree fully, that he was a wonderful person to originate the role. And quite honestly, had they not chosen him, the show may have not worked. But I have an issue at times separating an artist from the art, as it were. Knowing that the charming grandfatherly Doctor we saw onscreen was...

    Review Doctor Who (2005)

While it's certainly a bit juvenile to do such a stunt, I can't help but feel it's no different than anyone bashing her performance before they ever see the new series. I get it, there are fans who are pissed that they cast her in the role. But I guess, for me, it seems just as juvenile to give...
