That's in keeping with the book. The first part did drag a bit, but that helped to set up the feeling of hopelessness of the task.

I'm getting a little over every big bad being a speedster. Isn't there a single one of his other many enemies that could function as a big bad? I'd love to see how someone countered his powers by something other than just having the same power as him.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sutekh back as a villain. Or another Osiran.

Junior novelisation? What age range were they targeted at? Even at 12 I found the standard novelisations easy reading.

One can only hope. Animation costs are going down regularly. Hopefully eventually there'll come a time when we can get animations of all the missing episodes. Then we can all start agitating for CG reconstructions of the live actors similar to Peter Cushing's recent (undead) performance in Rogue...

This is the story that I first came in on as a regular viewer. My memories of the time are largely about Tegan's entry to the TARDIS. Most of the rest of the story didn't really stay with me (except for the ending of course) until later viewings.

I hadn't looked at it in that light. I'll have to reconsider it on rewatch. It did (for me) highlight the weakness of the 40 minute episode run time. While the build up exploring the city and working out what was happening was good, the discovery of the cause and the resolution felt very rushed...

I'd forgotten it was on :emoji_frowning2:. Not an encouraging sign for the series. I thought it was an OK episode. Nothing special or memorable so far. And once again we get a magic reset button :emoji_angry:.

It seems odd that it wasn't rushed into development during the recent craze for dystopian teen drama (Hunger Games, Divergent, Maze Runner, etc).

This story has always been one of my favourite book series. I'm astonished that no one has made it into a big budget trilogy yet.
