You get paid per view rather than per subscriber. Having subscribers just means you're more likely to have regular viewers rather than relying on people finding your individual videos by chance. And even viewers don't mean you get paid unless they watch the ads. The amount varies significantly...

Fun Your Favourite Books & Authors!

Novelisations can be a a bit of both really. The best ones allow you to delve further into the minds of the characters and understand things that are sometimes left a bit vague in the finished film (usually because of time constraints). The novelisation of The Abyss was an excellent example of...

    Fun J.K. Rowling

I love all her writing. Read Harry Potter several times and am in the midst of reading Book 1 to my 7yo and Book 4 to my 11yo. I haven't yet seen Fantastic Beasts but am planning to when I have time to sit down and watch it. I struggled a bit with A Casual Vacancy but once the plots started to...

Well I've already offered my services as manager (for a 15% cut) if they happen to become sporting superstars so maybe I should offer the same for their future media success

Indeed, why would they even suspect that as a possibility. The chances of is so remote that it isn't worth considering. In fact,

Review The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Silence of the Lambs is an excellent read and the movie adaptation was spot on (including great performances by Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins). Red Dragon is also an excellent book with the movie being OK (the Anthony Hopkins version - haven't seen the other one). Hannibal was OK but pretty...

    Review Ray Bradbury

Haven't read a lot of his stuff but Fahrenheit 451 and Something Wicked This Way Comes are both excellent.

Both of my boys (12 & 11) recently announced their career plans to become youtubers. I guess that means they're not planning on moving out any time soon :emoji_wink:

    Review Marvel Comics

The only Marvel comic I've ever read and enjoyed in any real ongoing fashion was Fantastic Four. That was back in the 90's including the period of Reed Richards' "death" and Ant-Man (Scott Lang) temporarily joining the team.

    Review Doctor Who (2005)

Looks intriguing. It will be interesting to see how well it's all handled. The finale definitely looks like something to look forward to. Hopefully we won't see the Doctor going on a farewell tour as we did with RTD though.

    Review The Works of Shakespeare

True. I've seen performances where they basically try to read the script like lines from poetry and it quickly loses all meaning. Those that perform it in conversational terms (original language and all) demonstrate how meaningful it can be. And being paired with live action often helps add...

Sherlock is great to read. Audible has just released the complete works read by Stephen Fry which sounds fantastic (although I can't currently afford it :emoji_frowning2:) http://www.audible.com.au/pd/Crime-Thrillers/Sherlock-Holmes-The-Definitive-Collection-Audiobook/B06WGRKDWJ

Review The Works of Neil Gaiman

Just picked up American Gods having read a short sequel/spin-off story I picked up in a ebook collection. Only read the first chapter so far but I'm enjoying it. I want to get his Norse Gods book too. Fortunately the Milk is another good one, even though its aimed at a younger age group.

    Review Musicals

Pippin Almost had a chance to perform this with an amateur theatre company many years ago. But then they chickened out and did The Sound of Music instead because it was "more popular" :emoji_frowning2:

Review Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

I'll be interested in seeing this, but wary. Unfortunately, as a huge Agatha Christie fan, there have been very few adaptations that have worked for me. Most seem to feel the need to make significant changes to the story which just don't work.

    Review CHIPS (2017)

The really frustrating thing about most of these types of nostalgia movies is that the studios seem to think that people who loved an old tv show will enjoy seeing a comedy/parody movie of it. 21 Jump Street is a prime example.

    Review The Works of Shakespeare

True but it's a very dated English that requires a bit of effort to follow. I wonder how long before our language changes to a point where reading (or watching) Shakespeare in its original form will be impossible without effectively learning another language?

    Fun The Paranormal

Ouija boards are completely real. I've seen them in shops. But they don't actually work. It's all done by people either consciously or unconsciously pushing the pointer.
