I'm a book fan. I read the first book before I saw the first season and was pleased at how close to the story they kept it. I watched the next couple of seasons in parallel with reading the books and as they began to diverge more I struggled to keep track. I've read all 5 (7) books and have yet...

I'm enjoying the series. It helps if you don't think too much about it though. Season 2 is definitely better than season 1.

As someone who generally seeks to find something worthwhile about every episode (even Love and Monsters) this is an episode I really can't defend at all.

I wanted to like him but he was regularly relegated to the background and in the end turned out to be pointless anyway.

I liked both but I have to admit, the few seconds we got of Jacobi as the Master were awesome. And the transformation between Professor Yana and the Master was amazing to watch. I'd have loved to have seen a full episode of Jacobi as the Master.

I'm not a believer in alien visitors. That's not to say I don't believe in the possibility of aliens, just that I doubt any have visited us. The universe is not only unbelievably large. Short of faster than light travel (which I continue to accept as a possibility) the distances between stars...

I think the Berenstein/Berenstain Bears issue is proof of multiple universes and that people can and do cross over between them. :emoji_wink:

I thought it was more of a timing issue. Having a Doctor-lite episode enabled them to film it consecutively with another episode. The only downside of not having these episodes anymore is that we just get one less episode per series.

It was brilliantly done and good to see that none of them takes themselves too seriously.

I saw the Australian production (since that's where I live). Costumes were fantastic. I don't really remember the ball gown specifically but it was all very impressive. They had to be fairly creative with the furniture characters (since they had to fit in a full size person) so the scale wasn't...

Without Kurt Russell it will never be anything but a pale imitation.

I thought it was fantastic. It remained true to the animated version but expanded on it without taking away from the story. And visually it was glorious. I've now seen this in all three versions (animated, stage, and movie) and really couldn't say which is my favourite. They all have merits.

The only poll that's even vaguely close between casts. Anton did manage to make his character distinct in a way that none of the others really did.

I don't think there's any competition in which is best between original and new casts. I may not like the new movies much but I think they did great with the casting. But the new actors are still playing characters that were developed by the original cast. And the original cast had 78 episodes...
