Review STAR COPS: AN INSTINCT FOR MURDER - Episode 01

I'm already intrigued by seeing the writer, who did a number of episodes for Doctor Who.

Fun FILM GENERAL: Anything To Do With Films

True but so far they seem to be managing. It seems that they're allowing divisions to work as discrete units rather than trying to oversee everything from a top level. MCU, Lucasfilm, Pixar, all seem to be basically operating as independent entities with a united vision. If they keep that...

It's true, Goyer doesn't have a great history of adapting stuff

    Review V (1983)

I missed the original miniseries (still haven't seen it all but I have read the novelisation) and only saw parts of The Final Battle but I was fully on board for the TV series I know! When I first realised that Willie was also Freddie I was stunned. The two characters are so different.

    Review Charmed (2018)

As someone who enjoyed the original series of Charmed, I can't work up any enthusiasm for this.

More importantly, if the acquisition by Disney results in a good FF movie then even more YAYYY!!!! Given the direction that franchise has gone in recent years, I'm happy to answer that with a big YES! It's not like they could make anything worse than AvP.

Review The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018)

I'm disappointed that we won't get to see the 2nd and 3rd books. I haven't bothered with the 4th book because it's from a different writer and all the reviews I've read suggest that it isn't as good as the originals.

News Masters of the Universe (2021)

I don't know whether to be excited or terrified about that. The idea of seeing a big budget Foundation movie is exciting. But we've yet to see anything of Asimov's produced into a movie that does justice to its source material.

    Review Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Quite possibly it was. I know that Peter Jackson's version included a scene with a range of giant insects as a nod to that scene. That one also freaked me out. I don't like spiders at the best of times. Giant spiders can just go fuck themselves right now.

    Review Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Just saw this movie yesterday with my thirteen year old son (and now I'm watching Godzilla). It's actually a pretty good movie. Although, as the director points out in the Honest Trailers clip, it's not without its flaws. Too many human characters none of which were properly developed. But as a...

Sounds like a great cast. My interest has definitely lifted.

It's always good to reward those fans who rushed out to buy the first release ... by making them pay twice.

    Review Black Panther (2018)

That's pretty impressive. It will be interesting to see what the audience score is, given the trolls' scheme to drag it down.

Review Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

I'm still fairly ambivalent. I notice that the trailers show a fairly limited amount of the title character which worries me given the rumours of an acting coach being needed.

    Review Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

They paid $5 million to screen that during the superbowl? I'd be stunned if anyone who saw that during the superbowl, and was likely to be interested in seeing the Avengers, hadn't already seen all of that and much more in the other trailers that have been released.

    Review Krypton (2018)

I don't think you're overthinking. You're just thinking. Which is more than the writers of these shows seem to do. It seems like they get an idea that sounds cool and don't bother thinking about how it might affect the story.

Review Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

That's the first picture I've seen where I can see a (vague) resemblance to Harrison Ford.

    Review Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

I think the correct phrasing should be "impossible to replace me". As much as Queen have tried, there is no replacement for Freddie Mercury that would ever be anything more than a second rate imitation. And I say that regardless of the actual talent of any replacement. For example, George...

    Review Trek Babylon!

Well there are more important things to think about you know. Like which celebrity is going to be voted out next on whatever that show is called. Or how they're going to frame their next Instagram photo. :emoji_wink:

    Review Firefly (2002)

Even if the movie hadn't made such significant changes, too much time has passed for the original cast anyway. 5 years after it finished it would have been ok. 15 years later they've aged too much to continue the story without a significant time jump, which I wouldn't want. Personally, I'd be...
