    Fun The Trek Franchise!

That's true, but Starfleet vessels (at least the ones we've seen) tend to be mostly human crews with only a small minority of other species. Of course, its possible that the majority of the crew that we never see are a variety of species, but that would imply that Starfleet is speciesist? and...

    Fun The Trek Franchise!

I always preferred "where no man has gone before" over "where no one has gone before". Not because of political correctness (which I'm generally in favour of). But because the second one is generally just plain wrong. You could probably count on one hand the number of places TNG went where "no...

In my opinion that blue coat is worse than the multicoloured one.

Just do a couple of documentaries about our friendly and not at all dangerous wildlife. :emoji_relaxed:

Thank God for that. As a tourism commercial it's a bit weak (doesn't really show much to entice people to come here other than to remind them that we exist) but as a movie it would have been horrendous.

    Review Earth 2

I have vague memories of seeing this when it was first on. I don't think I ever saw more than a few episodes. Probably because whatever TV station it was on kept changing the time. I remember enjoying the concept although it was a bit hit and miss with the realisation of the concept. Must check...

    Review Lost in Space (2018)

I agree with @Doctor Omega that there is a bit of a reactionary trend at the moment. In an ideal world we'd get all new female lead characters, however in the current "Hollywood" mode, where it's easier and safer to remake, reimagine, or reboot shows and movies, the only way to do this is to...

Sure they would. They'd either compltely ignore it or rewrite the script to become part of a "name brand" franchise.

News Indiana Jones 5 : IN DEVELOPMENT

Wow I hadn't realised that Crystal Skull was quite so long ago (already coming up on 10 years). Sounds like they're still looking to set up a character that can continue the series after Harrison Ford. Shia LeBeouf didn't work out so let's move on to the latest "big name".

News The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee (2020)

I really hope this is just a joke and not a real thing. Crocodile Dundee was a single movie premise which hasn't dated well at all, and while I always enjoy seeing Chris Hemsworth showing his comedy skills, I can't imagine this working out any better than the Ghostbusters remake.

Fun THE DEVELOPMENT HELL THREAD: Where Abandoned Movie Projects Go to Die!

I love this sort of whodunnit. A number of years ago Australia (and the UK too I think) had a weekly series based on Cluedo in which a regular cast of actors (playing the same characters but with a different story each week) performed a murder story in front of a live studio audience and at the...

    News Robocop Returns: IN DEVELOPMENT

Given the way they seem to do things like that these days, they probably won't bother with a costume and will just CGI it in after the fact, like they did with Cyborg, Green Lantern, and many Iron Man scenes.

    Review Lost in Space (2018)

I've got mixed feelings about it, but if done properly, it has the potential to be a great series. The basic concept behind the show is sound and lends itself to a range of stories. It just depends how they go about it - it will need to be a bit less silly than the original, because that's not...

Fun Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)

Haven't seen that episode yet, but it seems that both Enterprise and Discovery have a Starfleet bureaucracy that was determined to keep all useful information secret. Borg, Mirror Universe, Ponn Farr - all were encountered by Starfleet crews and yet were still a surprise in chronologically later...

Excellent. I wasn't a fan at first but his character has grown on me. I've found myself missing him in recent episodes of The Flash.

Fun Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)

Don't worry too much. I'm still on season one episode six. I tend to watch about 10 minutes at a time before losing the will to live.

    Review Doctor Who in Print!

Has anybody read Doctor Who and the Krikketmen? I'm in the process of buying some new books and came across this one. Is it worth the effort? I did enjoy James Goss' adaptation of City of Death.
