As I understand it, the story was offered to Colin, but it would have required him making himself available for the filming of a single story (and not accepting other work that conflicted with filming) and he wasn't willing to say no to other opportunities for a show that had just screwed him...
My question would be why you'd prioritise stopping Time Flight rather than Twin Dilemma (although maybe that one could be saved if you prevented the casting director from any involvement in the casting)?
This one always struck me as a bit silly. It's a really scary concept (although I can't imagine the Macra were well portrayed given the budget and effects available) but much of the story seems to come across as more of a silly romp than anything seriously scary. Maybe that's just the...
Well technically it is still a "moon" as it's a satellite orbiting a planet. It's just not THE moon as science has understood it for centuries. Or as anyone above the age of about 2 would understand it.
Or as I prefer to express it - "What egg? The moon was never an egg! That never happened!!!"
Completely unacceptable @Doctor Omega. To redeem yourself you're now going to have to invent a time machine and travel back to rescue all of the missing episodes :emoji_grinning:. Just try not to change anything important while you're back there. I'd hate to discover that I'd never been born.
Great review and it seems that your opinion of the movie is similar to mine. They're not quite there yet but they're well on the way to a quality superhero universe. If they can follow this up with decent Aquaman and Flash movies (and based on the performances of those two that shouldn't be...
This is one I'd really love to see returned (or animated). An interesting story concept and a great exit for Steven. And in my head-canon, the Doctor's exposure to the extraction machine is at least part of the reason he was so run down and eventually forced to regenerate in The Tenth Planet...
I seem to recall hearing that she was planned to have a cockney accent, and began filming that way, before the idea was nixed by the higher-ups at the BBC, who were horrified at the idea of anything so low class appearing on educational TV.
I've never been too fond of this one. Mostly because I disliked the novelisation so much. But watching the reconstructions gives the impression that this was quite a good story actually and a clever idea to have The Doctor be the inspiration for the wooden horse, especially having him ridicule...
Those Target novelisations are responsible for a lot of disappointment. In my imagination they were big budget special effects extravaganzas and there was never any way the actual episodes could live up to that.
That's impressive. They managed to go through four different editions without changing the front cover (other than the logo and text colour).
Or they were just really cheap and/or lazy.
Very few stories can fill out 7 (or even 6) episodes well, but I never had a problem with this one. Sure there's some filler in there but it all works for me.
