The really frustrating thing is that the original movies really lend themselves to a quality retelling/reimagining and would be a natural fit for a shared universe. The fact that Universal have managed to stuff up something that should be fairly simple is very disappointing.

I think there's definitely room for some form of extended version. The studio mandated run-time really squeezed the story and, while I enjoyed it overall, I think there was room for more in this one.

I did like the fact that the Chandler and Monica relationship was able to be as stable as it was. Given their family backgrounds it was a good relationship for them both. Ross and Rachel, on the other hand, seem to have grown up as the "spoilt" children and it shows in their relationships.

I'm re-watching the series at the moment. Some of the humour has dated poorly (there's a lot of homophobia jokes, for example). It's interesting watching the Ross/Rachel relationship in hindsight. Both characters didn't come out of things well to be honest, but I think Rachel is overall worse...

Not enough story for the episode count and a pointless plan by The Master. And the timing is a bit confusing. This is the next story after Terror of the Autons and yet The Master has been working as Professor Keller for 6 months? And did he honestly think that 'curing' criminals wouldn't give...

There's definitely room for an extended cut for this one. I enjoyed it, but I think the studio imposed time restriction did cause some problems for the final cut.

The sad thing is that each of those stories had so much potential that they didn't live up to.

Awesome. I suspected that would be the next one based on the sequel hook at the end. Another great story (aren't they all) and the added benefit of (hopefully) some awesome location filming.
