Review Let's Talk About THE GRAMMYS!

Just a few thoughts about the night. Some might be unpopular, but I'm sure we can all agree to disagree on some issues, right? :) -Metallica with Lady Gaga! Best performance of the night! Amazing! -Adele was, as always, perfection. Even with her hiccup during the George Micheal tribute. And the...

Fun The Best Music Thread in the Universe!

I never quite fit in with my small, rural town surroundings. Then a buddy of mine loaned me this tape. Life was changed, to be sure.

    Fun Favorite radio station?

Since I don't have a CD player in my vehicle anymore, I scan the radio. Rock radio is hard to find here in Iowa, so my go to is Rock 108, then I have a handful of stations that play classic rock, 80s hits, and some newer stuff, then a couple of top 40 stations. And I listen to more NPR than is...

    Fun Any Musicians?

I started with piano lessons at age 8 or 9, moved on to guitar and bass, played drums in high school band and bass and drums in jazz band, bass in college band, and have been in several bands. I haven't actively written any music in a long while, but I have a back catalog of songs that I would...

Review Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

Yeah. Star Wars is quoted more than Star Trek. I believe that has to do with the fact that Trek is too cerebral for most.

Review Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

Well, I posted it in a board dedicated to the movie, which one would assume everyone everyone who is going to post in has seen. And, as you say, it's 35 years past. It's a plot point that not only has been talked about in media since its release, but made the third movie possible. However, as I...

Fun IMDB: The Site We Left Behind....

My biggest complaint was how there was a very vocal - and growing - group who were simply out to hijack every thread they could for political purposes. Even if it was a benign conversation about something unrelated, someone was bound to come in and turn the conversation around just to start...

    Fun Star Trek: Voyager

I think for most fans is that thought that with Kirk, Spock and McCoy, you have the nostalgia effect. However, I do agree with you that we need to look past that nostalgia and explore the rest of the ST universe. And in your honor, I'll give Voyager another shot. I owe it to Trekkers everywhere.

    Review Ghost World (2001)

I feel like I'm the only one in the world that didn't like that movie. Maybe I just need to watch it again.

    Fun Star Trek: Voyager

I feel like a bad Trek fan for not liking Voyager more. Like, I dig Janeway as a captain, and there are characters I really think are interesting. But overall, I just can't commit to the show. Maybe someday...

Fun US commercials you can't stand/hate

Don't be sorry. This is a cool idea. We will have to agree to disagree about that commercial, though. That one always makes me laugh. Also, I'm a huge Mountain Dew fan. But I think we can all still get along. You guys are all cool. :D I hate the "guilt trip" commercials. The ASPCA ads that try...

Review Your Favorite Martial Arts Films

I'm just going to list my ten favorites, in no particular order. I'll also take suggestions for other films to check out. Enter The Dragon Fearless Rapid Fire Ip Man The Chinese Connection/Fist of Legend (I'm counting them both as one, because both versions are terrific) Black Mask Bloodsport...

Fun Star Trek: The Animated Series

I don't care if it's not canon, I loved the animated series. Sure, it's cheesy, but it's fun.

Review Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

First Trek film I saw in the theatre. My buddy and I sat in the very front row, both of us all of about six years old, and both mesmerized by the film. And, of course, both of us in tears when . Best of the original crew films. Some nicely done homages to Balance of Terror (one of the Top Five...

    Fun The STAR WARS Franchise

The first Star Wars film I saw in the theatre first run was Return of the Jedi. It was the greatest film experience I had had up until that point (I was only seven, after all), and that was even with having seen The Wrath of Khan in the theatre the year before. The coolest experience was for The...

    Fun Any Writers?

I have two unfinished screenplays. Both horror. One is a slasher/supernatural film with a group of paranormal investigators and a skeptic cop going up against a murdering doctor who was brought back to life. I abandoned it and need to dig it out and just rewrite it and make it better. The other...

    Fun The Terminator Franchise!

I really disliked Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Like, just thought it was crap. I really enjoyed Terminator: Salvation. I realize that much of this is because of the charisma of the actors, because the story isn't terrific (good story, but could have been executed better). Still, I can...
