    That's actually not bad.

    Fun Actors That Sing!

I first heard Gwyneth Paltrow sing on Glee (don't judge me) and I'd absolutely buy an album of hers if she released one.

    Review Jumanji (2017) Dec 22nd

Just back from seeing this, and its surprisingly pretty good. As I said in an earlier post it's a bit of a forced sequel, but treated as its own thing its a lot of fun. Dwayne Johnson is always entertaining, Jack Black played a teenage girl stuck in a middle age man's body brilliantly, and I...

Review Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)

Its funny, but I remember watching Young Justice when it first came out and thinking "this isn't much like the Young Justice comic". It seems like they made Young Justice with the Teen Titans tone and then switched it out for Teen Titans with the Young Justice vibe.

Sorry - I still like it.

Review Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)

Just watched a couple of episodes of Teen Titans Go with my kids. As long as you get into the right mindset (brain switched firmly to OFF) it's actually a lot of fun.

    Review Red Sparrow (2018)

About bloody time. How Marvel managed to let DC beat them to the punch with Wonder Woman after nearly 10 years of the MCU and 7 years after Black Widow was first introduced, suggests a significant level of sexism.

    Review Red Sparrow (2018)

I was just about to comment exactly the same thing. It looks like Fox have been watching the Avengers movies and decided that, since Marvel won't do a Black Widow movie, they will.

    News Ant-Man 3: IN DEVELOPMENT?

Not really a surprise. I imagine there are plans (however tentative) for a range of sequels and new titles in the MCU. It seems to me that Marvel (at least since Avengers made the cinematic universe a success) tend to plan, in at least broad strokes, well ahead. That doesn't mean things can't...

Review Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)

I don't think you're the target audience. I just showed the trailer to my kids (big Teen Titans Go TV show fans) and they want to see it "RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!" More interesting? Lots of things (including the stuff you listed). Preteen target audience? Teen Titans Go!

    Review Classic Doctor Who

Perhaps for you, but for me too many of the journeys were unnecessary chase scenes for Jon Pertwee to show of his action man / driving skills.

    Review Classic Doctor Who

While I'll willingly agree that the stories you listed are all excellent, every one of them could have easily lost at least one episode without any impact on the story.

    Review Terra Nova (2011)

Everyone I've interacted with that likes Discovery seems to follow the same basic pattern. "I never really liked Star Trek but I like the new show". Which, as I try to point out, suggests that the new show isn't really Star Trek. It's a familiar name for a brand new audience that would never...

    Review The Orville (2017)

Finally got around to watching the final episode of season 1 yesterday (don't judge me I've been busy). What a brilliant finish to the season. Can't wait for season 2.

Fun THE DEVELOPMENT HELL THREAD: Where Abandoned Movie Projects Go to Die!

There are a lot of movies that were successful simply because they were the right story with the right cast at the right time. You can't repeat that as the Ghostbusters remake proved. Plus there's a lot of the humour from 48 Hours that simply couldn't be repeated now because it was fairly racist.

    Review The Orville (2017)

If you're writing a serialised story (as opposed to procedural shows which are far more episodic in nature) it's better to write your story and then work out how many episodes it needs rather than try to write to a specific number of episodes. I know that the studio executives don't think that...

    Review Terra Nova (2011)

I remember enjoying this despite it's faults. It had a great premise and some talented actors. I suspect that if it had been allowed to continue it may have developed out of its flaws into something great, but we'll never know. Let's be honest, in this era of television, Star Trek: The Next...
